Devegowda offers compensation
Hubli, Mar 29 (UNI) The Janata Dal (Secular) Supremo and former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda today paid a cash compensation of Rs 25,000 to the family of a woman, who died of snake bite yesterday at Bommasamudra of Dharwad district.
Mr Gowda, who arrived here on the background of his son's "Jaitra Yatre" rushed to the village on hearing the incident and handed over the cash to the husband of the woman.
Former Minister P C Siddanagoudar, who accompanied former Prime Minister, also assured the farmily members of the victim of providing Rs 50,000 compensation from APMC.
