Patna, Mar 29: A class seven student of local DAV school, who went missing from near his house at Phulwarishariff area here on Friday last has created panic among parents about the possibility of his abduction by a criminal gang for 9 huge ransom.
Police said here today that 13-year-old Nishant left his house for a cricket match in the locality at around 1600 hours that day and did not return home since then despite a massive search by the police and the local people.
Alleging that the boy had been kidnapped by a gang of criminals for ransom, Nishant's father Surendra Prasad, a promoter, in an FIR at the local police station said he was threatened by some miscreants a few days ago about the abduction of his child following a dispute over a local cooperative election.
Though the police remained tight-lipped about the possible fate of the child, they said every effort was being made to trace Nishant.
Incidentally, though the number of kidnapping of school children from Patna and elsewhere in Bihar had considerably been reduced during the past few months following quick police action, the possibility of abduction of Nishant has once again created a fear phychosis among the parents and guardians of all school going children.
