Kolkata, Mar 29 (UNI) All India Minority Forum(AIMF) today demanded a CBI inquiry into the exact number of trustees' and details of property that had been syphoned off during the 30-year tenure of the State Waqf Board.

Talking to newspersons here today, AIMF president Idris Ali announced that they had decided to demonstrate in front of the State Waqf Board on April 22, demanding that the state government present a white paper on the exact number of trustees' and details of property that had been syphoned off during their 30-year tenure.

'' The government should order a CBI inquiry into the matter to ascertain the details of encroachment into the Waqf property and also return the land to their authentic owners, '' he demanded.

He alleged that non-muslims, as well as several CPI(M) Muslim leaders, including West Bengal Assembly Speaker Hasim Abdul Halim were involved in the misappropriation of assets belonging to the Waqf boards.

He also demanded that the government immediately publish a white paper stating the amount still lying in the Hazi Mohammad Mohsin fund.

He also alleged that only the 8,000-odd Waqf property of the state had been registered, but the state government had not registered the several thousand crores of boards' assets, which were being illegally captured by both muslim and non-muslim leaders.
