19-year-old kidnapped for ransom on Mar 10, still missing
Mumbai, Mar 29 (UNI) A 19-year-old youth has allegedly been kidnapped from Andheri here for ransom and has not yet been traced.
A complaint in this regard has been lodged by the boy's father Dalveer Dharampal Piwal (45) who has stated his son was kidnapped by unidentified persons on March 10. The kidnappers have used the boy's debit card to withdraw Rs 36,500 but the youth still continues to remain missing.
A 40-year-old businessman Iqbal Anis Khan from Vakola here has lodged a complaint with the police saying he had been kidnapped by four persons after he refused to pay an extortion amount of Rs 50,000 as demanded by them.
Khan told the police that four persons, two of whom he has identified as Jaffer and Nadeem, had been demanding a sum of Rs 50,000 from him. But, when he refused to pay, the four kidnapped him. The quartet also threatened they would kidnap his son too and kill him.
Khan told the police he had, therefore, made arrangements to pay up the amount following which he was released.
