Zardari calls for concrete steps to resolve Kashmir issue

Islamabad, Mar 28 : Pakistan People's Party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Friday said that mere confidence building measures would nor resolve the Kashmir issue, and called for taking concrete steps for its resolution.

"I wish all the guns get rusted," adding we do not only want CBMs but "we want elections to be held in the region," Zardari, who was accompanied by People's Democratic Party of India Mehbooba Mufti, told reporters here.

"Pakistan will continue to extend moral, political and diplomatic support to Kashmiris for resolution of the issue," he added.

Zardari further said that the Kashmir policy would be pushed forward in the Parliament.

"We want to amicable resolution of the Kashmir issue through dialogue," The News quoted him, as saying.

He also clarified that Pakistan's message is of peace and love and urged for permission to Kashmiris of both sides to meet with one another.

Mehbooba Mufti said that Kashmir has its own individuality.

The situation is now changing for good, she said, adding, "There has been too much bloodshed."
