TN Govt appoints K P Jain as new DGP

Chennai, Mar 28 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Government today appointed Mr K P Jain as the new Director-General of Police.

An official release said here Mr Jain would replace DGP P Rajendran, who would retire on March 31.

Mr Jain was functioning as Chairman of the Tamil Nadu Police Housing Corporation Limited.

Mr Rajendran, who was scheduled to retire on December 31, 2007, had been given an extension of three months and his tenure would end this month.
