Sterlite Industries bags 'safety awards'
Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu, Mar 28 (UNI) The Tuticorin-based Sterlite Industries (India) Limited has bagged three 'State Safety Awards' 2005, instituted by the Inspectorate of Factories, Tamil Nadu Goverment.
According to a release here today, the unit won awards under three categories-- highest reduction in accident rate against the previous year (2004) (second prize), lowest accident frequency rate (II prize) and longest accident-free man-hours for the period from May 25, 2005 to December eight.
Company CEO Kihore Kumar said ''these awards underline our commitment towards safety and improvement on safety standards.'' UNI XR JJ 1852
