Samrite votes in Tankha's favour
Bhopal, Mar 28 (UNI) Putting to rest all speculations, SP legislator Kishor Samrite, who had charged the Congress with efforts to bribe him, today claimed that he cast his vote in favour of Congress-supported independent candidate Vivek Tankha for the biennial election to the Rajya Sabha seats from Madhya Pradesh.
After exercising his franchise, Mr Samrite, who is known as a maverick political leader, told reporters here that he would continue to fight against corruption despite casting his vote in the favour of the independent candidate.
Mr Samrite reached the polling centre in the Vidhan Sabha premises here along with other SP legislators, including Dr Sunilam.
''I respect senior leaders of my party. So, I have cast my vote in the favour of Mr Tankha,'' he said, adding he stood firm on his allegation against Congress of attempting to bribe him to vote in Mr Tankha's favour and police was investigating the matter.
