Police constable shot dead

Varanasi, Mar 28 (UNI) A police constable was shot dead by some miscreants in Lanka area here last night, police said today.

Arun Kumar Mishra (32) was shot when he went along with Sankat Mochan police outpost in charge Mahendra Yadav to nab the miscreants last night in Saket Nagar colony.

Mishra was rushed to the hospital, where he was declared brought dead, police said.

The deceased constable was resident of Sakarpala village in Ghazipur district.

Meanwhile, a search to nab the absconding accused has been launched.
