PF office to refund mill workers dues: PMK

Puducherry, Mar 28(UNI) Pattali Makkal Katchi(PMK) Parliamentary party leader M Ramadass today said the Provident Fund(PF) Commissioner would refund the PF amount of the retired Anglo-French Textile mills workers after deducting the amount for three years when the mill was closed.

In a statement here, Professor Ramadass said the PF amount could not be remitted for three years from 1983, since the mill was closed during the period and the PF office had announced that the amount of the employees would be calculated only from 1986, depriving the workers, who were working from 1971 onwards.

The PMK leader said after the insistance of the management and workers of the mill, he had taken up the matter with the PF authorities in New Delhi and ensured that the orders were issued for the refund of the amount.
