Islamabad, Mar 28 : Awami National Party (ANP) President Asfandyar Wali has said that the new Government was willing to withdraw the Army from Swat and to end violence in the name of war and terror. "The problems of South Waziristan should be resolved politically and not by power. I hate the phrase 'war against terrorism', Wali said while talking to reporters after a meeting with a US congressional delegation at Frontier House.

He said that he had told the US delegation what the ANP's stance was.

He also cautioned the new Government to maintain law and order as the problem had spread from the Tribal Areas to the whole country.

He said his party had informed Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Zardari about its reservations on the PPP's contacts with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).
