NREGS getting corrupted in UP: UPCC
Jaunpur, Mar 28 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) president Dr Rita Bahuguna Joshi today said the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) was getting corrupted, and to make people aware the party would carry out a ' Hisaab Mango Abhiyan' across the State from April 1.
Addressing the media here, Ms Joshi alleged that the state has misutilised the funds provided by the Centre for the NREGS.
''The Central government has identified as many as 21 districts in UP for development of the minorities,'' she said. The districts including Bulandshahr, Badaun, Barabanki, Kheri and Ghaziabad would get about Rs 1,015 crore from the Centre in the next five years, the Congress leader added.
Ms Joshi criticised Chief Minister Mayawati for the increasing crime rate and worsening law and order situation in the state.
