Mortar shell found in Kupwara field, defused

Srinagar Mar 28 (UNI) Security forces today averted a major tragedy when they detected and defused a 62 mm live mortar shell in the frontier district of Kupwara.

Official sources said a mortar shell was found in a paddy field at village Chandigam, Kupwara, this morning.

The area was immediately sealed and the shell defused by Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) without causing any damage.
