LIC development officers to hold rally on Mar 31
Thane, Mar 28 (UNI) Life Insurance Corporation development officers plan to hold a rally and a march to the LIC headquarters ''Yogakshema'' on March 31 to press for their long-pending demands.
A National Federation of Insurance Field Worker of India (NFIFWI) spokesperson told reporters that the chief demands of the officers are that LIC should be retained as a public sector undertaking, and that FDI hike in the insurance sector should be stopped.
The officers have also demanded that the assurances given by Finance Minister and LIC Management should be honoured and the proposed changes in the service conditions should be revoked.
The officers also want that outsourcing and creation of parallel marketing forces be stopped.
They have also demanded an inquiry into the activities and investment patterns of private insurers.
