Haryana assembly passes 6 education related bills
Chandigarh, Mar 28 (UNI) The Haryana Vidhan Sabha today passed the Kurukshetra University (Amendment) Bill 2008, Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya Khanpur Kalan (Amendment) Bill 2008, the Maharashi Dayanand University (Amendment) Bill 2008, Chaudhary Devi Lal University Sirsa (Amendment) Bill 2008, Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology Hisar (Amendment) Bill 2008 and Haryrana State Board of Technical Education Bill 2008.
Education Minister Mange Ram Gupta introduced the first four Bills while Technical Education Minister A C Choudhry moved the Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology Hisar (Amendment) Bill 2008 and Haryrana State Board of Technical Education Bill 2008.
The Bills moved by Mr Gupta propose to revive the post of Pro Vice-Chancellor with immediate effect to assist the Vice-Chancellors of these Universities.
The Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology Hisar (Amendment) Bill had been introduced with the objective that the Faculty of Management Studies should be converted into an independent School to be called the Haryana School of Business. This school headed by a Director, would have total academic and administrative autonomy in its day-to-day working and should be supervised a separate Board of Directors headed by the Vice-Chancellor and to provide for establishment of Haryana Business School and its Director as one of the officers of the University.
The Haryana State Board of Technical Education Bill 2008 provides for the establishment of State Board of Technical Education, Haryana for the promotion, coordination and regulation of diploma level technical education in the State and for matters connected therewith.
