Five people killed as sand-laden lorry runs over them
Mandya, Karnataka, Mar 28 (UNI) Five people were killed when a sand-laden lorry ran over them near Malavalli in the district, early today.
Police said the victims were pushing their punctured two wheelers to Hosahalli village from Doddahalli village, enroute to attending a festival when the lorry hit them from the back.
The lorry also overturned and the driver escaped from the scene.
While four people were killed on the spot, one succumbed to injuries at Malavalli Government Hospital.
The deceased were identified as Shivakumar (22), Ramesh (25), Sanne Gowda (24), Sidde Gowda (40) and Basavanna (25).
