Elephant tramples mahout to death

Kottayam, Mar 28 (UNI) An elephant trampled its mahout to death at Edanad near Pala today.

Police said the deceased was identified as Mohanan (60) of Karimannoor.

The incident occurred while he was giving water to the elephant.

The pachyderm knocked him down with the trunk before trampling.
