Council adopts bill to amend University Act
Hyderabad, Mar 28 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Assembly tonight adopted a Bill to amend the Andhra Pradesh Unversities Act naming the Nalgonda University as Mahatma Gandhi Univeristy in Telangana Region.
People's representatives had requested for renaming the Nalgonda University as Mahatma Gandhi University on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on October two, 2007.
The government accepted it and accordingly amended the Andhra Pradesh University Act which was unanimously adopted by voice vote with all parties supporting it.
