AP Council adopts Bill to amend Land Reforms Act
Hyderabad, Mar 28 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Assembly tonight adopted a Bill to amend the Andhra Pradesh Land Reforms (Ceiling on Agriculture Holdings) Act to provide free cultivable land and house sites to the poor.
The Bill, piloted by Revenue Minister D Prasada Rao, was adopted by voice vote with all parties supporting it.
Accepting the recommendations of the Koneru Ranga Rao Committee, the government brought the Bill for assigning surplus land to the landless poor free-of-cost and to empower the Tahsildar instead of Revenue Divisional Officer for resumption of land.
