AP gets Central assistance under ARWSP
New Delhi, Mar 28: The Ministry of Rural Development has granted Rs 63.93 crore to Andhra Pradesh government under the Rajiv Gandhi National Drinking Water Mission of Centrally sponsored Accelerated Rural Water Supply Programme (ARWSP) during the current financial year.
According to an official release issued here today, upto 15 per cent of funds released under this sanction may be utilised for Operation and Maintenance and five per cent of funds will be spent for tackling sustainability measures.
The fund is alotted for execution or completion of schemes to provide water facilities to rural habitations and schools.
Priorities set in ARWSP guidelines and other instructions issued from time to time has to be followed for coverage of rural habitations and schools.
