6 women held for trying to attempt immolation

Lucknow, Mar 28 (UNI) Police here today arrested six women for trying to immolate themselves in front of the Vidhan Bhawan.

According to police, Kaisarbagh resident Saleem owned a shop near a mazar at Charbagh railway station, but few days back, the encroachment was removed, following which, he committed suicide by immolation on February 27.

Later, his family lodged an FIR against two persons. However, no action was taken against the accused.

Irate over this, six women of the deceased's family reached the Vidhan Bhawan and tried to attempt immolation, when police arrested them.
