Rupee lower slightly at 40.17/18 per Dollar

Mumbai, Mar 27: The Rupee today opened softer by three paise at 40.17/18 against US Dollar, slipped three paise from its previous close of 40.14/15 per Dollar on view of bearish trend at Indian bourses.

Later, the partially convertible Indian currency fluctuated between 40.14 and 40.20 against the greenback during the noon session due to less buying of Dollar by oil companies, dealers said.
