Police case on con woman

Madurai, Mar 27 (UNI) The Madurai City Crime Branch (CCB) Police have registered case against a 35-year-old woman for cheating several women to the tune of Rs 30 lakh under the guise of running a Women's Self Help Group (SHG) here today.

Police sources said P Vanitha, a native of Dindigul, had started a Women's SHG at Jaihindpuram in the city and collected money ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs 25,000 from each of the several women in the guise of arranging bank loans. She then made good with the collected money along with her husband.

On a complaint from the affected women, City Police Commissioner K Nandabalan, today ordered the CCB to investigate the case.
