Over 200 hutments gutted in fire

Una, Mar 27 (UNI) More than 200 hutments (Jhuggis) were gutted in a major fire that broke out in Lalsingi village, one km from here today.

The loss of property has been assessed to over 2 lakh rupees.

More than 1,000 people have been rendered homeless. However, no loss of life has been reported.

The hutments belonged to migrant labourers from Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar.

Una DC Padam Singh Chauhan has deputed Una SDM to visit the spot.
