MPHC quashes plea against Minister
Jabalpur, Mar 27 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh High Court today dismissed a plea for a Central Bureau of Investigation probe into property worth lakhs of rupees being allegedly purchased by state Revenue Minister Kamal Patel after he assumed his post.
Justices Deepak Mishra and Prakash Shrivastav struck down the petition of Harda-resident Anil Bansal besides directing that documents pertaining to Mr Patel's assets be submitted to the Chief Commissioner, Income Tax Department.
The bench also ordered an inquiry into Mr Patel's agricultural income.
Petitioner's Counsel Manikant Sharma submitted that Mr Patel misused his position to purchase a flat at Harda, a plot in his son's name in the Harda Agricultural Produce Market and other property.
The Minister's Counsel Naman Nagrath submitted that a Harda-resident political rival Rajendra Patel was fighting by proxy through Mr Bansal.
