Lucknow, Mar 27: Property worth over Rs one crore was gutted in a major fire broke out at a plywood factory in Aishbagh locality of the state capital late last night.
About 200 hutments were razed to the ground while about 30 fire tenders from police, Army, Air Force(IAF) and HAL were deployed in service to rescue and evacuate the people entrapped in the fire. No casuality had been reported in the incident, the police said. ''The fire, which was reported about 2230 hrs, could be fully extinguished early this morning at 0600 hrs'', police said.
The fire spread to six other plywood factories and hutments due to gusty wind and blast of four LPG cylinders also created some tension among the people.
