Nepal PM Koirala congratulates his new Pak counterpart

Kathmandu, Mar 27: Nepalese Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala has congratulated Mr Yousuf Raza Gilani for becoming Pakistan premier. ''Pakistan's return to democracy through recently held democratic elections is viewed with great interest in Nepal,'' Mr Koirala said in a message to Mr Gilani.

''I feel particularly delighted to see such a welcome democratic development in your country, at a time when we ourselves are embarking upon the task of holding historic election for the Constituent Assembly with a view to building a democratic, peaceful, stable and prosperous Nepal,'' he added.
Mr Koirala also expressed his confidence that friendly relations between the two countries would be further enhanced in the coming days.
