INLD's dalit leader joins Haryana Janhit Congress

Kaithal, Mar 27 (UNI) The Haryana Janhit Congress headed by Kuldip Bishnoi got a shot in the arm when a former INLD legislator Amar Singh Dhandey joined the Haryana Janhit Congress along with his supporters in the presence of HJC supremo Kuldip Bishnoi at Cheeka nbear here today.

Mr Dhandey, who won assembly polls from Guhla (Reserve) assembly constituency twice, had announced his decision to resign from INLD yesterday alleging that party leaders had sidelined him inspite of his long association, dedication and service to the party.

Mr Dhandey's joining HJC is considered to be a major setback for INLD as he had more than two decades association with Mr Devi Lal and his family and was considered a strong dalit leader in the INLD.

He had headed Haryana Harijan Kalyan Nigam during Mr Om Prakash Chautala's regime.

Later, addressing party workers on the occasion, Mr Bishnoi welcomed Mr Dhandey in his party and assured him that he and his supporters would br accorded due respect.

He also claimed that people were ''now fed up with both INLD and Congress party and were joining Janhit Congress which would emerge victorious in the coming Lok Sabha assembly bye-elections''.

Power shortage, deteriorating law and order, rampant corruption and rising prices were some of the issues which would bring the fall of Congress at Centre and present Haryana government, he said.
