CRS delegation inspects rail work in Tripura

Agartala, Mar 27 (UNI) An eight-member delegation led by Commissioner of Railways Safety (CRS) Balbir Singh arrived here today to inspect rail tracks between Manu and Ambassa and oversee progress of track laying work on the Ambassa-Agartala route.

Northeast Frontier Railway officials here said the CRS would submit an inspection report to the Railway Ministry for taking necessary steps to run passenger trains between Manu and Ambassa commercially as well as to complete the track laying work up to Agartala within this year.

Besides CRS, a separate team of three high officials of the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has come today to review the improvement of the rail line.

Trial run between Manu and Ambassa was carried out successfully last month and passenger train service in this stretch was expected to start by the first week of next month, the officials added.
