Corporators walk out of Budget Meet

Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, Mar 27 (UNI) The Budget Meeting of the Kakinada Municipal Corporation was adjourned today amid uproar with all the corporators staging a walkout to protest the 'disrespect' shown to the Council by the Commissioner and other officials with regard to surrendering all ten tractors delivered without its approval.

Mayor Kavikondala Saroja, who adjourned the meeting for ten minutes, pacified the agitated members and tried to bring out a compromise formula on the controversial subject.

However, the Corporators refused to attend the proceedings forcing her to postpone the meeting till March 29.

Trouble started much before the Budget was introduced with senior Corporators urging the Mayor to settle the controversial ''tractors purchase deal'' as a pre-condition to go ahead with the Budget Meeting.

When the Mayor tried to proceed with the Budget presentation, the Corporators insisted the issue be settled first.

When the Mayor did not respond positively to their demand, all of them staged a walkout.
