Cop killed in road mishap

Jalandhar, Mar 27 (UNI) A Punjab Police Head Constable today died while another injured in a road mishap near PAP gate in the city.

Police said Head Constable Kulwant Singh died on the spot while Head Constable Gurjit Singh, who was riding pillion, sustained injuries in the accident, which took place when their motorcyle lost control and hit a electricity pole, police added.

The injured Head Constable was immidiately rushed to a private hospital where his condition was stated to be stable, while after conducting the proceedings under sections 174 of the CrPC, the body of Kulwant was sent to civil hospital.
