CBI is probing Mecca masjid blast: Minister
Hyderabad, Mar 27 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Home Minister K Jana Reddy today informed the Legislative Council that investigation into the bomb blasts at Macca Masjid was transferred to the CBI.
Replying to a questiion raised by Ibrahim Bin Abdullah Masquati (TDP) during the Question Hour, he said the blast cases at Lumbini Park and Gokul Chat were transferred to the Central Crime Station here.
He said no 'innocent' Muslim youth had been arrested or tourtured by Hyderabad city police in connection with these cases.
Stating that all were equal before the law, Mr Redddy said the Government had also ordered Judicial and Magisterial inquiries on the terror strikes here.
He said of the 97 people taken into custody in connection with these cases, 42 were released.
As many as 29 Bangladeshi nationals were taken into custody for overstaying here without valid documents. Seventeen of them were released, Mr Reddy added.
He said coordinated efforts were being made in liasion with Central intelligence agencies to nab those involved in the recent terror strikes.
