Canara Bank to open 4 more branches
Tiruchirapalli, Mar 27 (UNI) The Public Sector Canara bank will open four more branches before the end of December this year, Bank Deputy General Manager (Tiruchirapalli circle) S Nagarajan said today.
Participating in the inauguration of bank's 2674 th branch at Shastri Road here, Mr Nagarajan said the proposed branch would be opened in Uyyakondantirumalai, K K Nagar, Periyamilaguparai in the city and Ponnamaravati in Pudukkottai district.
He said already 124 branches of the bank spread over 11 districts of Tamil Nadu and Karaikkal in Union Territory of Puducherry were functioning.
During the current fiscal, extention counters of bank at Sevasangam Higher Secondary school in the city, Anna University, Tiruchirapalli, and Nilakkottai in Madurai District were upgraded as full-fledged branches.
The bank's business stood at Rs 2.43 crore as on December last year, and it was targeting to achieve Rs 2.87 crore by the end of this fiscal.
District Collector T Soundiah inaugurated the new branch.
