London, Mar 27 : Legendary rock band Beatles' Fab four have been immortalised into life-size topiary figures.
The topiary Beatles have been grown in Tuscany, Italy, from privet and were placed into a metal "skeleton" by artist Franco Covili, one of the world's leading topiary artists, 18 months ago.
Merseytravel, the local transport authority has funded the topiary.
"It is an imaginative design and reinforces our aim of bringing creativity, through public art, across the public transport network," The Sun quoted Neil Scales, director-general of Merseytravel, as saying.
The final design has been carried out by a local specialist horticultural company, the Bigger Plant Company in Meols, Wirral.
"They were a little surprised when we asked them to make The Beatles - it is the first time they have ever received a request like this," said Director Steve Nicholson.
"It was a real challenge but the results are fantastic," he added.
