ADA's hammer on Atiq's office
Allahabad, Mar 27 (UNI) Allahabad Development Authority (ADA) has started bulldozing the illegal part of expelled Samajwadi Party (MP) Atiq Ahmed's office in Karbala here.
Atiq is prime accused in the 2005 Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MLA Raju Pal assassination case here.
According to sources, about one fourth demolition work had been completed and the remaining would be completed by the day end.
The office was illegally constructed in 2002. Later, ADA had served a notice to Atiq and a demolition order was passed on October 10, 2002.
Atiq later challenged the order in the Commissioner's court, but his appeal was dismissed.
On October 10, 2004, Atiq filed an affidavit in the court, saying the construction should be compounded and he would get the illegal parts razed. However, he did not do so.
Earlier, ADA had bulldozed several properties owned by the controversial MP in the posh Civil Lines area of the district.
