Eight persons die in stampede at a fair in MP

Bhopal, Mar 27: Eight persons died and several injured in a stampede during the 'Rang Panchami Mela', a religious fair at Karila in Ashok Nagar district in Madhya Pradesh, last night.

An ex-gratia of one lakh rupees each to the bereaved families has been announced by the State Government. Rang Panchami is being celebrated across Madhya Pradesh with a 15-day fair at Baba Garibnath's Samadhi, symbolising communal harmony. In another incident, six persons were killed when a tractor trolley carrying the people from the fair site overturned.
