Sonia constitutes committees in poll-bound Karnataka

New Delhi, Mar 26 (UNI) Ahead of the assembly elections in Karnataka, Congress President Sonia Gandhi today constituted the Pradesh Election Committee with former Chief Ministers S M Krishna and N Dharam Singh and Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman K Rehman Khan as members.

Mr Mallikarjun Kharge would head the committee which has a total of 31 members plus all the members of the Congress Working Committee and all the Union Ministers from the state, besides heads of the state frontal organisations.

Ms Gandhi also constituted the Campaign committee with Mr Siddharamaiah as Chairman and the Election Management and Coordination Committee with Mr Krishna as Chairman.

AICC General Secretary in charge of Karnataka and Union Minister Prthviraj Chavan would be the Chairman of the PCC Coordination Committee, while former Union Minister Jaffer Sharief will head the Manifesto Committee.
