Seven nomination for Laxmipur Assembly byelection
Bhubaneswar, Mar 26 (UNI) Altogether seven candidates have filed nomination papers for the byelection to Laxmipur(ST) Assembly seat in Orissa.
Chief Electoral Office sources here said the Congress, BJD, Samajwadi Party, Samrudha Orissa and Republican Party of India (A) and two Independents filed their nominations.
Sources said Mr Purna Chandra Majhi (Cong), Mr Kumud Chandra Saunta (Samajwadi Party), BJD candidate Bibhisan Majhi and Mr Kamal Lochan Saunta (Ind) filed their nominations today.
Scrutiny would be held tomorrow and March 29 would be the last date for withdrawal.
The election would be held on April 12 and the elections process would be over by April 18.
The byelection was necessitated following the death of Mr Antaram Majhi(BJD).
