Bhubaneswar,Mar 26 (UNI) Train services were badly affected under the Rayagada section of the Visakhapatnam Division following last night's naxalite attack at Gumada Railway Station in Vizianagaram.
East Coast Railway(ECoR) sources said several trains were either cancelled or short terminated following the attack. The suspected Naxals blasted the station building last night forcing the authority to cancel, control, short terminate and reschedule train services in the section.
While 228 Visakhapatnam-Raipur Passenger has been cancelled between Visakhapatnam and Titlagarh, the 227 Raipur-Visakhapatnam will be short terminated at Titlagarh and will run as 228 Visakhapatnam-Raipur Passenger from Titlagarh to Raipur.
Similarly, 229 Durg-Visakhapatnam Passenger has been short terminated at Titlagarh and will run back as 230 Visakhapatnam-Durg passenger from Titlagarh.
The 230 Visakhapatnam-Durg passenger has been short terminated at Vizianagaram and will back to Visakhapatnam. This train has been cancelled between Vizianagaram and Titlagarh.
The 2843 Puri-Ahmedabad Express, 8447 Bhubaneswar-Koraput Hirakhand Express, 2807 Visakhapatnam-Nizamuddin Samata Express, 8448 Koraput-Bhubaneswar Hirakhand Express, 2844 Ahmedabad-Puri Express, 8517 Korba-Visakhapatnam Express,3351 Dhanbad-Bokaro- Alappuzha Express and 2835 Hatia-Yeshvantpur Express trains have been detained at different stations enroute following the attack.
