MP booked for orgainsing obscene dance
Amroha, Mar 26 (UNI) Amroha Member of Parliament (MP) Harish Nagpal has been booked for organising an obscene dance at a three star hotel in Jyotiba Phule Nagar on Monday.
However, the MP has denied the allegations, saying it was a Holi Milan cultural programme.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (Moradabad) Badri Prasad Singh today said that on Monday, independent MP from Amroha, Harish Nagpal, had thrown a party at the three star Meritan hotel, where a dance by bar girls was also organised.'' As the dance was carried out without any prior permission and at a time when prohibitory orders were imposed in the area, the act is a clear violation of rules, he added.
Meanwhile, a case had been registered against the MP and the hotel administration, Mr Singh added.
However, the MP has termed it a ''politically inspired'' move, saying that a cultural programme was being dragged into the category of crime.'' Nagpal further said it can be a step taken to close the hotel, as the hotel owner is also an MP.
