Minor slips into 45 ft pit; army called in
Agra, Mar 26 (UNI) Army jawans have been pressed into service to save a two-and-a-half-year-old girl, who had fell into a 45-ft deep boring well in Saiya area here.
The incident occurred at Tehra village last evening, when Vandana accidently fell into the boring well which was temporarily covered with mud, District Magistrate Mukesh Meshram said today.
The villagers tried to save the girl, but on failing brought the matter into notice of the administration.
Army was pressed into service after police team failed to save the girl.
Army jawans started digging a parallel pit at a distance of five ft, and managed to bore about 42 ft deep pit till this morning.
Meanwhile, a medical team supplied oxygen, glucose and few eatables to the minor.
According to official sources, Vandana was fine.
