MCX clocks total turnover of Rs 6116.64 cr
Mumbai, Mar 26 (UNI) The Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has clocked a total turnover of Rs 6116.64 crore and 84,268 trades.
MCX Comdex the composite index of metals, energy and agro-commodities gained 1.36 per cent at 2688.97 points, MCX Metal gained 1.14 per cent, MCX Energy 1.58 per cent and MCX Agri 1.33 per cent.
The gold turnover was Rs 2307.44 crore with a volume of 18,908 kgs and open interest of 10,111 kgs, and silver clocked a turnover of Rs 1541.92 crore with a volume of 663,105 kgs and open interest of 203,040 kgs.
All gold contracts registered gains. Gold June 08 contract was up 1.24 per cent at Rs 12,299 per 10 grams, while silver September 08 contract was up 1.98 per cent at Rs 23,692 per kg.
In metals, bar lead May 08 contract was down 1.16 per cent at Rs 110.95 per kg and tin May 08 was down 1.98 per cent at Rs 792.25 per kg.
All other metal contracts were up.
Chana and jute contracts rose, while a few cardamom contracts, some ref soy oil contracts and turmeric contracts made some recovery.
Gold April 08 contract clocked a volume of 16,138 kgs and zinc April 08 contract 9040 kgs, an MCX release said.
