Integrated Handloom Development Scheme to be implemented
Kannur, Mar 26 (UNI) The Integrated Handloom Development Scheme, sponsored by the Centre, will be implemented during the 11th five year plan as an attempt was made to facilitate and sustain the development of the handloom weavers, Handloom and Textiles Director K A Chandrasekharan said today.
Talking to newspersons here, he said Kerala Industries Minister Elamaram Kareem would formally inaugurate the scheme at a function here tomorrow.
The scheme was divided into four sections, including cluster formation, group formation, marketing incentives and innovative programmes, he said, adding that during the cluster formation about 500 Looms would be included from weavers.
