Flute maestro mesmerises audience in Jammu

Jammu, Mar 26 (UNI) Flute maestro Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasiya left the audience spellbound with a marvellous live concert here last evening.

Jammu and Kashmir Governor Lt Gen S K Sinha, who was present as the chief guest on the occasion, lauded the flute maestro, saying, ''for a moment, a feeling of Vrindawan was in the air.'' The flawless rendition took off with Raag Madhuvanti that carried the listeners to celestial heights.

Engrossed in his own flute's serene sound, the classical music maestro said, ''time seems to have been stopped while performing in the Dogar land. This is the birth place of my elder brother Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma.'' Lt Gen Sinha, greatly delighted by the performance, congratulated Panditji for his classical Hindustani renditions saying, ''this was a blend of honey and fragrance.'' The event was organized to celebrate the first anniversary of General Zorawar Singh Auditorium at the University of Jammu here.
