Congress expresses concern for Vandana
New Delhi, Mar 26 (UNI) The Congress today expressed its concern about the two-and-a-half-year-old girl, who had fallen into a 45-ft deep boring well in Saiya area in Uttar Pradesh.
"This is actually the fourth such incident which has occurred over the last one year," AICC Spokesperson Jayanthi Natarajan told newspersons, while expressing the hope that the various state governments and the official authorities would consider various ways and means and put in place necessary laws to ensure that such borewells and hazardous digging should not be left unattended without any responsibility being taken for safety.
The incident occurred at Tehra village last evening, when Vandana accidently fell into the boring well which was temporarily covered with mud. Armed forces have been pressed into service in the operations to recover the child.
