Raising the issue in the Delhi Legislative Assembly through Special Mention, Dr Harshvardhan said 3000 farmers of six villages - Kanjhawla, Sultanpur Dabas, Karala, Pooth Khurd, Tikri Khurd and Tikri Kalan- were sitting on an indefinite dharna at the Khanjawala DC office demanding compensation for their land at present Government rates. They did not even celebrate Holi this year.
''There was complete silence in the six villages on the occasion of the festival of joy in our country. Inspite of this, the Government has no sympathy,''he said.
