Three killed in truck collision in Kanpur

Kanpur, Mar 26: Three people were killed and two others sustained serious injuries after a speeding truck, carrying them, dashed against a stationary truck in Sachendi area here today.

A truck laden with iron rods was en route from Rania Industrial area to Kanpur, when it rammed into a stationary vehicle near Kisan Nagar.

While two people died on the spot, another succumbed during the course of treatment at Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital.The injured were battling for life at the hospital, police said. One deceased had been identified as Mohd Hanif, the ill-fated truck driver, while efforts were on to identify the others.

Bodies had been sent for post-mortem.
