Bardhan 'manhandled' by TAV activists in AP capital

Hyderabad, Mar 26 (UNI) CPI General Secretary A B Bardhan was tonight manhandled by Telangana Ikya Vedika (TAV) activists when they were prevented by the CPI leader from distributing pamphlets supporting the Telangana cause at the venue of the 20th National Conference here tonight.

According to police and party sources here, TAV activists led by Mr P Yadagiri started distributing the pamphlets supporting separate Telangana.

Noticing this, Mr Bardhan immediately tried to stop them when a TAV activist pushed Mr Bardhan.

The CPI partymen, who were at the spot, immediately handed them over to the police deployed at the venue. Two persons were taken into custody for interrogation.

Mr Bardhan was addressing the National Council on political resolutions when the incident occurred in the auditorium at venue.

The meeting was restricted to only party cadres.
