2 held for double murder
Kanpur, Mar 26 (UNI) Two brothers were arrested for killing a young couple, who were married against the wishes of the girl's parents.
Hemant Tripathi and Nistha of Govind Nagar were shot dead on March 23 near Gopala Banquet Hall. Later, four people were named in the FIR.
Acting on a tip-off, police arrested Rajendra Dwivedi alias Raja and his brother Jitendra alias Chotu.
A motorcycle, 12 bore country-made pistol and two cartridges were recovered from their possession, the police said.
Recently, Nistha had married Hemant Tripathi against the wishes of her parents, which was the main cause of the murder, the police added.
Meanwhile, a reward of Rs 10,000 had been announced for the entire police team for accomplishing the target.
