Punjab assembly adjourns sine die

Chandigarh, Mar 25 (UNI) The Punjab Vidhan Sabha was today adjourned sine die after the conclusion of the Budget Session.

During the session, which commenced on February 29 with the Governor's address a number of important bills were passed. These included the Punjab Value Added Tax (Amendment) Bill-2005, the Punjab School Education Board (Amendment) Bill, the Punjab Privately Managed Recognised Schools Employees (Security of Service) Amendment Bill and the Punjab Municipal Fund (Amendment) Bill.

During the session, the House gave its approval to the Budgetary Estimates for the year 2008-09.
